Invest In Your Employees
Recently, Fortis Fitness & YOGALUX was asked to start working with a local business. This company is a successful, medium-sized business but had a very big problem: their employees were becoming increasingly sedentary and they noticed a decrease in productivity, an increase in sick days, and a lack of company culture. After taking the time to analyze their issues, we designed a custom program for them: a 12-week weight-loss challenge that includes 2 private classes per week, weekly weigh-ins, nutritional advice, weekly motivational emails, and unlimited access to our classes and gym. The company would provide prizes for teams that lost the highest percentage of weight each week, as well as 2 grand prizes for the male and female who had the highest percentage loss of weight at the end of the 12 weeks.
We are happy to report that through only 5 of the 12 weeks of the program, the 30 participants have lost a combined 115 lbs. More importantly, each participant has reported that they feel more confident, have more energy, and are excited to continue on their health and wellness journey! In speaking with their Human Resources director, this group of participants have had less sick days, have increased their productivity, and are excited to come to work every day. The employees have said that they feel a much stronger connection with their company. They now truly believe that the company genuinely cares about their health and wellbeing; and also say that they feel that the company is willing to invest in them as people. The participants also express that their favorite part of the whole program is that they have had the opportunity to meet people from different departments. They have created strong relationships and bonds, which has added to their culture of overall accountability.
While this is just one anecdote about how a true corporate wellness program can create positive change within a company, the truth is that investing in your employees can have a greater ROI than you expect. Whether it is a program similar to this one, or you create a custom program that best suits your company and employees; there is no budget too large or small. Make the best and most important investment for your company, in your employees.
