Amy is a RYT-200 Hour teacher registered with Yoga Alliance. As a student of yoga in San Diego since 2012, she initially started on her yoga journey as a way to feel grounded in her new southern California home. On her path, she has discovered the power of yoga to manage stress and anxiety, as well promote self-love. Amy has an MSN in nursing and works full time as family nurse practitioner at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla.
Amy received her 200 Hour training at The Soul of Yoga Studio in Encinitas. In addition, she also has a 25 Hour Prenatal yoga certificate, and is currently enrolled in her 300-hour teaching training course at The Soul of Yoga.
Amy leads a practice guided by breath, with a focus on exploring movement and stillness. She focuses her class on the relationships between the mind, body, and spirit. With her experience as a nurse practitioner, she holds a deep appreciation for anatomy and physiology and brings this knowledge into her teachings. She holds space for her students to intuitively explore their bodies and encourages opportunities to live the lessons of yoga off their mat.
