Melanie Wilkerson has been involved with sports her entire life. Although basketball is her passion, she’s played a variety of sports from youth all the way up to the collegiate level. She’s taken on many leadership roles in the form of being captain and has been awarded numerous athletic and student-athlete awards. After moving to California from Michigan, Melanie attended Palomar College in 2008-2010 where she played basketball and was captain of the back-to-back PCAC Conference Championship team. It’s there she received her Associates Degree in Behavioral and Social Sciences before transferring up to the University of Chico. At CSU Chico, Melanie continued to play sports while receiving her Bachelors in Psychology and minoring in Kinesiology and Sexual Diversity. Upon graduating from Chico in 2013, she realized she not only wanted to help people psychologically but also physically so she went on to become a certified personal trainer.
