Labor Day Cocktails
The Cucumber ? Goes South
Ingredients:
- 2 oz silver tequila, we like Milagro but all will work
- .5 oz lime juice
- .5 oz orgeat syrup
- 1 oz cucumber juice
Directions:
1)Peel cucumber of skin. Either juice cucumber or place in vitamix. If processed in vitamix, strain.
2)Add all ingredients and shake with ice.
3)For garnish: peel one long thin cucumber slice and wrap inside of cocktail glass.
4)Double strain into an old fashioned glass with large cube or on the rocks.
Note: If you don’t want to make your own almond orgeat syrup, we like BG Reynolds and Liber and Co brands. Torani will also work and is available at any Bevmo.
Kingston Daiquiri ?
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Jamaican rum
- .75 oz lime juice
- .5 oz grenadine
Directions:
Add all ingredients to shaker. Shake vigorously and strain into coupe/cocktail glass.
For garnish: cut a thin lime wheel and place in drink
Note: If possible, please avoid the neon corn syrup loaded Rose’s grenadine. The drink will not taste the same. Grenadine is fairly easy to make and there are lots of recipes available. There are lots of other brands available to purchase also. We used BG Reynolds, it’s all natural and delicious.
